Genealogy Research Services

“Sarah, I can’t thank you enough for helping me find my roots. You’ve given me the answers to so many questions.” —Betty, adopted at birth

In addition to being an actor, I have 15 years of experience conducting ancestral research and building family trees. I’ve had clients from all over the world, from all different backgrounds, and I would be honored to help you on your genealogy journey!

Have you ever wondered about your lineage? Need help solving a family mystery? Don’t know where to start, or just don’t have time? That’s where I come in. I have helped adoptees determine their birth parents and reunited long-lost family. I’ve traced families through the Revolutionary War and even the sinking of the Titanic! I look for the stories that will make your family history come alive.

Publications

My work has been published in the Journal of the American Revolution, a peer-reviewed online magazine for history scholars and enthusiasts alike. Click above to read my article, “Searching for Samuel’s Service: Stories of the Revolution Revealed Through One Man” on the JAR website, or read this PDF version.

I was also invited on the Journal’s official podcast, “Dispatches” to discuss the article and my work as a researcher, which is now listed under, “Best of JAR.” Have a listen!

Sarah Swift comes to us as a new writer here at the Journal of the American Revolution, and her first offering is a really good one. Her article, and this interview, is a wonderful study for new historians.
— Brady J. Crytzer, author & historian
Hi Sarah, after reading your piece on Samuel Babcock, I wanted to send a quick note and say, “Thank you.” Your description of my great-great-great-great-great grandparents was colorful and captivating, and they both really came to life. I’ve shared your writing with many friends and family.
— Bryan, descendant of Samuel Babcock

Research Packages & Pricing, 2025

In each package, I create an online family tree which you will be able to manage when my work is done. (I can also edit an existing tree if you’ve already begun this process.) I then compile my findings into a beautiful keepsake book containing photos, stories, and biographical sketches of your family members, or a comprehensive report. Examples are available in my “Packages, Pricing, & Process” sheet below.

Please note this process takes about 4-6 weeks, but may take as long as 8-12 depending on the project scope or degree of difficulty. All sensitive information will remain private, and everything will be handled with the utmost care and respect.
